HOW TO USE A MAKERS STUDIO MESH STENCILS!

You can use mesh stencils on virtually any surface!

Adhere to the surface that you wish to stencil by rubbing the stencil on or burnishing it on with a ChalkArt Spreader. Make sure there are no bubbles!

Firmly press the medium of your choice into the mesh of the stencil. You should hear the ChalkArt Spreader as it scrapes the surface of the stencil.

Peel the stencil immediately after you create, do not wait for the medium to dry, this will ruin your project and possibly your stencil! Wash immediately following the instructions below:

HOW TO CLEAN A MAKERS STUDIO MESH STENCILS!

Use water and rub lightly on the non-adhesive side with your fingers or a wet sea wool sponge.

Work all the paint out of the mesh of the stencil. Check for paint on the back of the stencil and remove it if needed. Only rub on the adhesive side when absolutely necessary!

Lay your stencil adhesive side up to dry.

Are my mesh stencils reusable?

Yes! With proper washing and care, you can use your stencils over and over again.

Are my stencils adhesive?

These mesh stencils are lightly adhesive. They are able to be repositioned but will stay in place while you are creating. 

What are these stencils made of?

These mesh stencils by A Makers Studio are patented tri-mesh stencils made of a polymer overlay. 

Can I use a blow dryer on my stencils?

This is not suggested and may damage the adhesive properties. 

Can I dry my stencil with a paper towel or rag? 

Air dry is best. Do not ever use a paper towel or rag with lint or high pile as it will damage the stencils. If you need quick drying you can use a lint-free rag, lay the stencil adhesive side down, and then rub the non-adhesive side dry with a lint-free rag. 

Can I cut the stencil? 

Many of A Makers Studio stencils are designed for this and have a cut line. You can cut

the stencil, but you will want to cut on the grey polymer, you will have some fray as the mesh becomes exposed, so give yourself room for this. Cutting on the mesh design (other than cut lines) will permanently damage your ability to use that section of the stencil. 

Do you have to use the entire stencil design? 

No, you can just use the part of the design that you want. You will control where you place your product. You can use just a border or just a word. 

Why is the product seeping under my stencil and blurring the design?

Oh no! The product is seeping under the stencil and my design is blurry. If this happens to you, your stencil might not have adhered to your piece. Your medium might be too watery/thin or you may be putting on the medium too thickly.

How do I store my mesh stencil? 

After the stencil dries it can be pressed lightly back onto the card stock surface it came on and returned to the plastic sleeve. These can also be stored in a 3-ring binder in pages, or in a plastic storage bin.
